In 2012, I submersed myself into the world of Energy Medicine & Natural Healing modalities, first studying Reiki and Healing Touch. I found my way to Reflexology certification and then completed a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.  Since then I have continued to expand my Natural Medicine Education, studying Herbal Medicine and Osteopathic Manual Therapies and attained the status of Doctorate of Natural Medicine in 2021.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much these theories overlap and how well these modalities not only compliment each other, but can be a compliment to allopathic medicine in many ways, especially when dealing with today's biggest complaints like Digestive complaints, Pain and Stress Management. 

I am continuously intrigued by these ancient healing modalities, many of which are finally (thankfully) emerging in the West and I believe there is no better time to bring back the wisdom of our ancestors, to reintroduce ourselves to a gentler more subtle approach to our overall health & wellbeing, and to remember that we are wholistic beings living in a complex world that offers us many obstacles when trying to find balance. 

As we expand our minds to include natural ways of being, we may find ourselves much better equipped to deal with life's stressors, subsequently allowing the body to a better opportunity to work at healing itself. When we feel better...we heal better...

I never really knew what I wanted to do after High School until I met a Massage Therapist who told me all about the benefits of Massage Therapy. She explained to me that Massage could help with things like whiplash, tennis elbow, back pain, stress relief and that it can simply bring comfort and relief to everyone.

I decided to complete Massage Therapy training and graduated in 2012 from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage . After graduation, I spent two years working at a local Spa where I learned a lot about the relaxing effects of Massage therapy in this type of setting. I decided that I wanted a change and I moved on to a local Massage Therapy clinic where was able to focus on building my clientele and my personal style. This is also when I first met Monique, who showed me about Acupuncture. I was a little nervous about it at first but I loved it later.

Since my graduation in 2012, I have continued to learn different techniques and have taken courses like Cupping, Thai Foot Reflexology and Acupuncture.

I pride myself on being a great massage therapist and in being professional in how I work with my clients.

I'm Janie Banville, a bilingual graduate of the Académie professionnelle des naturopathes et naturothérapeutes (AcPNN) in Greater Montréal.

​I started my career in a nursing home as a care assistant plus studied for 2 years in the traditional healthcare system prior to choosing the naturopathic approach as my preferred path. I focus mostly on a holistic approach of nutrition and to get rid of the cause of a disease, not the symptoms. Giving the body space to promote it's own self-healing ability.

Further to my Naturopathic training, I have also completed Acupuncture, Gua-Sha and Cupping training, all based on a Chinese Medicine approach to treatment.  I have also studied hands on modalities that include body mobilization and soft tissue techniques, including passive stretching, Thai yoga massage and Meridian massage techniques. Allowing me to utilize an integrated and individual approach to working with my clients, emphasizing the inter-connectedness of mind, body, and spirit. 

With a long-time interest in how the mind, body & soul all work together in impacting everyone’s health issues, I knew I wanted to help others and educate them on their bodies and their minds. I took a specific interest in hormone balance, gut issues and the emotional relationship with oneself. ​The idea that nutrition is and can be used as medicine for many ailments has dwindled from our awareness. My mission is to help individuals understand a whole food diet, and what amazing benefits will follow.

I have been deep within the health and wellness world, growing and becoming more educated through both experience and course work, for approximately the last 10 years. This is the life I think, feel, act on, and cherish every day. Working on myself hasn’t been a perfect journey, I have had ups and downs just as everyone else, these ups and downs within my personal experiences have fueled my educational experiences, as well as my ability to assist others. Once we are able to see what our bodies are capable of with proper nutrition, you are truly unstoppable.

I have a degree in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick as well as my education in Sports Nutrition and Holistic Nutrition.  This combination of education allows me to assist my clients with added knowledge on how their psychological health also plays into their nutritional health.  Being able to help coach my clients with this combined knowledge adds so much value to my ability to offer nutritional recommendations based on the mind/body connection.

My hope is to educate, and assist more individuals, to allow them to live their best life, while feeling their best. I am passionate about what a healthy and balanced lifestyle can bring, not only for my clients, but their families as well.
